Summer time is Klee time! – with Cosmos Klee beginning on June 1 and featuring many Klee highlights. The show foregrounds the unique versatility of Paul Klee’s work and his delight in experimenting with new techniques and materials. Besides showing his famous masterpieces, the Zentrum Paul Klee is also mounting pictures that the public has hitherto only seldom had access to. The presentation displays an astounding diversity of painting techniques, unique puppets, the artist’s famous angels as well as Klee rarities. For the first time the subject of fakes and art forgery will be illuminated. Our experts from the Zentrum Paul Klee are investigating the authenticity of works believed to be by Klee. Not everything that comes under scrutiny in this way turns out to be an original.
